BaZi: ZPZQ - 论财 Wealth Discussion

It's a boring Saturday afternoon and I'm studying ancient Chinese bazi charts

ZPZQ says:



财为我克，使用之物也，以能生官，所以为美。为财帛，为妻妾，为才能，为驿马，皆财类也。
Wealth is something that I control and thus I can use, it can engender Officer, that is why it is good. It represents wealth (money), wives and concubines, talents and capabilities, post horse, all that is related to wealth.


财喜根深，不宜太露，然透一位以清用，格所最喜，不为之露。
Wealth (star) likes to be deeply rooted, it's not good to be too exposed, and if there's only one protruding and is used, that is most desired for (wealth) structure, it is not regarded as too exposed.


即非月令用神，若寅透乙、卯透甲之类， 一亦不为过，太多则露矣。
Even if it's not the Useful God from the Month's Decree, if it is like Yin with protruding Yi, or Mao with protruding Jia, one is not too much, many is considered exposed.


然而财旺生官，露亦不忌，盖露不忌，盖露以防劫，生官则劫退，譬如府库钱粮，有官守护，即使露白，谁敢劫之？
And as for 'Prosperous Wealth engendering Officer', (having wealth) exposed is not dreadful, that is because Officer can prevent Robbery (Rob Wealth), when Officer is engender, Rob Wealth would retreat, it's like the food storage that belongs to the government, guarded by the officer, even if the food storage is exposed, who would dare to rob?


如葛参政命，壬申、壬子、戊午、乙卯，岂非财露？唯其生官，所以不忌也。

Is it not that wealth is exposed? but it is engendering Officer, so that is okay.


Trey:

Wu born in Zi month with 2 Rens protruding,Ren (wealth) engenders Yi (Officer), Officer could guard the wealth from being robbed.


财格之贵局不一，有财旺生官者，身强而不透伤官，不混七煞，贵格也
The noble structures for Wealth structures are many, there's 'Prosperous Wealth engendering Officer', Self is strong and Hurting Officer is not protruding, and it does not mix with 7K, that is a noble structure.

原文：有财用食生者，身强而不露官，略带一位比劫，益觉有情，如壬寅、壬寅、庚辰、辛巳，杨待郎之命是也。透官身弱，则格坏矣.
There's Wealth that is engendered by Food, Self is strong and Officer is not exposed or if it carry one Compare Shoulder or Rob Wealth, that is still affectionate, like

Even if Food and Seal counter each other, but it is desired to save Si Wu Officer, and thus to discard Food to protect Officer, but it also reduces the blessing.


Trey: This is confusing, Gui born in Si is Wealth structure, but Xin protrudes changes that Useful God to Seal, Seal counters Food, the text says this is good because Seal is protecting Wu earth Officer inside Si, I don't know why.. it seems strange to me.


有财用伤官者，财不甚旺而比强，辂露一位伤官以化之，
There's Wealth that uses Hurting Officer, Wealth is not really prosperous but parallels are strong, when one Wealth is exposed, Hurting Officer can transform parallels to Wealth.

Jia is protruding from it's storage Wei, seeing Xin as Rob (compare shoulders are sometimes referred as rob wealth too), Ren transforms Rob to engenders Wealth, it's the chart of Imperial secretary Wang, prosperous Wealth without Rob and protruding Hurt is not good, as Hurting Officer is not something good, but when Wealth is weak and Rob is protruding, there was no other choice but to use Hurting Officer.

旺而露伤，何苦用彼？徒使财遇伤而死生官之具，安望富贵乎？
When Wealth is prosperous and Hurt is protruding, why does it need to use Hurt? When wealth is prosperous Hurting Officer could counter Officer, how could it hope to be wealthy and noble?

有财带七煞者，或合煞存财，或制煞生财，皆贵格也，
There's Wealth that carries 7K, if 7K is combined and Wealth is saved or if 7K is controlled and Wealth is engendered, these are noble structures

如毛状元命，乙酉、庚辰、甲午、戊辰，合煞存财也；

有财用煞印者，党煞为忌，印以化之，格成富局，若冬土逢之亦贵格。

如赵侍郎命，乙丑、丁亥、己亥、乙亥 化煞而即以解冻，又不露财以杂其印，所以贵也。

至于壬生午月，癸生巳月，单透财而亦贵，又月令有暗官也。

BaZi: SMTH - 论正财 - Discuss Direct Wealth part 2

又曰：财为养命之源，凡人八字不可无财，但不要太多，多则不清，若柱原无财而行财运，乃有名无实，如财多身弱，又行官乡财旺之地，见财盗气，官克身，不惟不发禄，且祸患百出。
It is also said: Wealth as the resource that raises life, it should not be absent from one's chart, but it is also not good to be too many, too many is not clear, if in the natal chart there's no wealth, only sees wealth in the Luck Pillars, denotes that having something only in name but not in reality, if there's many wealth while Self is weak, and then it (LP) goes to places that prosper Wealth and Officer, seeing Wealth is Robbing Qi, Officer is to counter Self, not only one will not be unsuccessful, he will also undergo many unfortunate events.


又曰：财为马，官为禄，二者不可缺一，实难两全，原有财星宜行官运，原有官星宜行财运，行财运生官，行官运发财，若柱中原无官星，只是财多，又行财运，亦能成就名利，间有登科者。
It is also said: Wealth as Horse, Officer as Fortune, neither one should be absent, but in reality it is difficult for one to have both, if there's originally Wealth in the natal chart, it's good to go through Officer LP, if there's originally Officer in the natal chart, it's good to go through Wealth LP. Going through Wealth LP would engender Officer, going through Officer LP will become rich. If in the natal chart there's no officer star, but there's many Wealth starts, then when LP goes to Wealth, it can also bring about glory and benefits, there are cases where people aced the imperial examination.


盖财不畏多，多则暗生官也，须得身旺方能胜任，若无财，官多身受其制，反不为吉，柱中无官，只取有财为福。
Because one does not fear to have many wealth. as many wealth would obscurely engender Officer, but the DM must be strong, then only it can take on the responsibility, if there's no wealth but many officer, self would be restrained by officer, that is not auspicious, if there's no Officer in the natal chart, Wealth is regarded as the blessing.



又曰：财官与杀，用月支者，所谓以支为命，日干者，所谓以干为禄，若月支有财官，干头不露，自足为福，若地支无财官，干头明露，乃虚诈无实之命，纵行旺运，亦不济事。
It is also said: Wealth, Officer and Killing, is it said that 'Branches as Life', and for Day Stem, it is said 'Stems as Fortune', if there's Wealth and Officer in the month's branch and it does not protrude in the stems, self-contentment is the blessing, if there's no Wealth or Officer in the EBs, but they are in exposed in the stems, it's a fake, shallow / unsubstantial life, even if when the LP goes to prosperity, it would be of any use.


Trey: 支为命,干为禄 Branches as Life, Stems as Fortune is a common concept in BaZi reading, branches are usually used to analyzed things that is involved in someone's life while Stems are used to read someone's fortune, how successful one will be in terms of money and status.


苟月支无而年时日支有，亦可取用，月地支坐财官，谓之得时，日地支坐财官谓之得位，时地支坐财官，谓之有成。

When the month's branch has none (wealth or officer), but there are in Year, Hour or Day branch, they can also be taken for use,


when the EB of the month sits Wealth or Officer, it is called 'get the time', when the EB of the day sits Wealth or Officer, it is called 'get the position'

when the EB of the hour sits Wealth or Officer, it is called 'get success'



得时为上，得位次之，有成又次之，兼得一二尤妙。
To get the time is the best, get the position is second, and get success is third, if number one and two are present together, it is wonderful.


年主祖父富贵，中年後无用。
Year represents rich and noble ancestors, after middle age , it is useless.


又云：庚辛日生於正月，别位有火为杀，以克庚辛，虽年月见寅卯，亦无祖财，一生熬煎，遇发财处必成灾祸，以木旺生火，害日干之金，天元羸弱，财党杀生，不能为福。
Also, it is said: Geng and Xin day that is born in the first month, at other places there are fire as 7K, that will counter Geng or Xin, even if Year or Month sees Yin and Mao, it will be regarded that ancestors have no Wealth, a difficult life, at places when one become wealthy he will also encounter disasters, as prosperous wood engenders fire, and it harms the metal of the daymaster, and Day Yuan is weak, many wealth will engender killings, that is no blessing.


又云：正财之格，主人诚实，行事俭约，赋性聪明，惟有悭吝，若财旺身衰，主妻秉男权，持家干蛊，又主有好子替力，反得优游之乐，运行比劫，妻妾多危。
Also, it is said: Direct Wealth structure, represents an honest person, do things thriftily, intelligent, but is stingy, if Wealth is prosperous and Self is weak, means wife hold the man's authority, doing housekeeping work, it also means having good children to assist, the man enjoys being carefree and leisure, when the LP goes to Compare and Rob, wives or concubines will be in danger.
