印绶者，乃五行生我之名。
Seal and Ribbon is the name given to the element that engenders myself.
如甲乙在亥子月，丙丁在寅卯月之类，乃我气之源，为生气，为父母，能护我官星，使无伤克，譬人生得物相助相养，受现成之福，岂不为妙？

The person of this structure is intelligent, wise, compassionate, good with words (talk kindly), slow and large body, round and thick face, can drink and eat (a lot), does not get sick much in his life, does not encounter inauspicious or unexpected accidents, but is stingy (in terms of money), if the person is a government official, he is a just official, receive or announce imperial orders that could be civil or military, for all that gets the integrity of the Seal, likes Officer star, as Officer engenders Seal.
经云：印赖官生。
The classics says: Seal relies on Officer to be engendered.
又云：有官无印，即非真官，有印有官，方成厚福是也。

忌财星，以财能破印。
Dreads Wealth star, as Wealth can break the Seal
经云：印绶生月岁时，忌见财星，运入财乡，却宜退身避位是也。
The classics says: Seal and ribbon born in the Month, Year or Hour, dreads Wealth star, if Luck goes to places of Wealth, it's beneficial to resign or retreat from one's position.
岁运同论，印绶不逢损伤，多受父母倚荫，资财见成，安享富贵，诸命相比，当以印绶多者为上，月最要，日时次之，年干虽重，须归禄月日时，方可取用，若年露印，月日时无，亦不济事。
Annual Pillar is analyzed similarly, if Seal and ribbon are not damaged, denotes protection and support from parents, investment will give return, enjoys wealth and nobility in peace, relatively speaking, those with many Seals are better, month (pillar) is the most important, day and hour (pillar) are secondary, as for Year Pillar, even though it is heavy, it must return prosperity to Month, Day and Hour, only then it can be used, if Seal is exposed in Year, but it is not in Month, Day and Hour, it is not useful.

Officer star's presence in the natal chart is good, if Seal and ribbon are few, Officer and Devil many, or if it fit into other structures, it cannot be analyzed solely as Seal and ribbon (structure), if Seal and ribbon meets 'Arching prosperity', 'Focused prosperity', 'Returned prosperity', 'Rat's nobility', 'Clipping nobility', 'Hour nobility' structures etc, it is especially auspicious, but it also represent having few children or childless, many Seal and ribbon people are quiet and lonely.

凡印绶，喜七煞，但煞不可太多，多则伤身。
Seal and ribbon likes 7K, but Devil must not be too many, too many (7k) injure Self.
原无七煞，行运遇之则发；原有七煞，行财运，或印绶死绝，或临墓地，皆凶。
If the natal chart has no 7K, seeing 7K in the Luck Pillar will give success; if the natal chart already has 7K, seeing Wealth in LP, or when Seal and ribbon are dead and extinct, or arriving into graves, are all inauspicious.
经云：煞能生印，畏行财乡，破印助鬼，决主不详。
The classics says: Devil can engender Seal, but it fears to go to Wealth's land, as it breaks the Seal and assists the Devil, and that is inauspicious.
凡格喜身旺，惟印绶喜生弱，若元局带财伤印，运行比劫身旺，亦能发福，无则不宜，如无官煞财神，又行身旺，主平常。
When (most) structures likes DM to be strong, only the Seal and ribbon (structure) likes DM to be weak, if the original structure carries Wealth which injured the Seal, going through Luck with Parallels and Rob Wealth or prosperous Self can make one to become rich, if there's no such LP then it is not good, like if there's no Officer, Devil or Wealth star,or Luck pillar is where Self is prosperous, it denotes ordinary.
