The Day stems as above, all likes Compare Shoulders to 'clear', does not favor Food or Hurting Officer to lock the Seal and engender Wealth, having this while LP goes to places where Seal is in decline while Wealth is prosperous, will leads to 'being greedy of Wealth and thus broken Seal', one would be stripped of his position (government official) or dismissed.

  1. Dear Trey,

I noticed that the gods appearing in the hour pillar seemed to have major significance on charts. Like in the case of the above, wealth star appearing in the hour pillar breaks Seal. But why not the month stem since the month pillar is the commander.

By the way, for a Yi DM, I cannot find wu chen in hour pillar. It is only Wu Zi and Wu yin. Also, while the above text refers to wealth star affecting Seal, why is it that for metal DM, Geng is affected by Ji and xin is affected by Geng and Xin compare shoulder as well ??

  2. Dear Joe,

The month pillar represents the time when one is relatively young, having a good month pillar denotes having support from parents or siblings.

Hour pillar is called 归宿 GuiSu, the place of return, home, the final outcome, the ending, destiny. An auspicious hour pillar is all one need to be successful (eventually), but that will have to take into consideration the dynamics of the chart, which is determined by the month EB.

In other words, whether the hour pillar is auspicious or not depends on the chart structure, i.e, the month EB.

You are right, there's no Wu Chen hour pillar for Yi DM., likewise there's no Gui Mao hour for Wu DM and RenZi, RenXu for Ji DM. But all my copies of SMTH, softcopy, hardcopy, online copies show the same text. Something must be wrong. I wanted to refer to the original source, but I couldn't find it because SMTH writes only '赋云' - 'The Ode says', without specifying which Ode.

As for how the hour pillar can break the Seal,

[Geng day in the month of Wu, unfavorable is Ji Mao and Yi You hour, fears Zi clash, in the month of Si does not favor Wu Yin hour, fears Hai clash]

Well, Ji Mao contains Yi wood in Mao, though strictly speaking, Mao alone will not be able to break Ji earth inside Wu EB because Mao is an EB. Heaven is moving and the Earth is still. If Hai or Xu arrives to form a wood frame with Mao, Wood Qi will move and that can break the Seal.

The same goes for Xin DM born in Si month, Geng Yin pillar contains Jia underneath. This Jia is in EB and it alone cannot break the Seal unless Jia protrudes somewhere in the pillars or arrives in the LP / AP.
