BaZi: NaYin 石榴木 Wood of Pomegranate - Year Pillar Geng Shen and Xin You

庚申, 辛酉 石榴木
Geng Shen, Xin You - Wood of pomegranate


石榴木者，性辛如姜，花红似火，数颗枝头，累累多子，房内莹莹，干支纯金而纳音属木，乃木之变者也。
Pomegranate wood, it's nature is hot (of taste) like ginger, its flower is red like fire, a few fruits on a stem, clustered with many seeds, inside the compartment is like cluster of gems, Stem and Branch are purely metal but NaYin belongs to wood, that how this wood is different.


可以移盆内而妆做山，故喜成器之土，以为根基，城头为上，屋上次之，然必阴阳交见，则丙辛丁庚互官，戊辛已寅互印，主吉；

It can be moved into a pot and adorned to be a hill (??), thus it likes useful earth as the root foundation, castle earth is good, house earth is second, and it must see that yin and yang are both seen, thus Bing  for Xin and Ding for Geng are the Officer respectively, Wu for Xin and Si Yin are Seal, denotes auspiciousness.


路、壁、驿、砂四土有山助之，亦吉，若无何用？
Road, Wall, Post and Sand earths are auspicious when they are assisted by mountain, otherwise what use they can be?

见金砂中最吉，泊金干支水木而纳音金，榴木干支金而纳音木，皆脱去本性而互换归旺，以木旺寅卯，金旺申酉，各得其位，谓之功侔造化格，主大贵；
Seeing metal within sand is most auspicious, foil metal has water and wood as stem and branch but nayin is metal, pomegranate wood has stem and branch as metal but nayin as wood, that is (these pillars) take off their original characteristics and they support each other to be prosperous, as wood is prosperous in Yin and Mao, Metal is prosperous in Shen and You, each of them obtain their places (getting support in terms of Stem, Branch and Nayin), this is named the structure of 'equally meritorious deed' , denotes great nobility.

海中乙丑为山，更逢水助则吉，或壁上，城头，亦得剑锋，就位相克，最凶，若先有砂金，能制其毒，亦不为害。
(Metal) Inside Sea has Yi Chou as mountain, thus getting support from water is auspicious, or Wall, Castle and also getting Sword edge which is in place to counter, is most inauspicious, if there is Sand metal, it can control its venom and it will not be harmful.

水见天河，雨露相滋，井泉、溪涧，清水浇灌，大海太泛滥，非贫则夭，有艮土稍得。
(As for) water, seeing Heavenly River, rain and dew nourishes (wood), well and spring,  stream and nourishing, these are fresh water for irrigation, great ocean is over flooding, denotes either poverty or die young, if there's Gen earth, then it's a little okay.

太阳、霹雳二火虽喜，不宜并见；
The sun and lightning fire are both auspicious, but they should not be seen together.

炉中寅卯旺位，本吉，再加别火则凶。
Inside furnace fire, Yin and Mao are prosperous places, so it's auspicious, but if there are other fire it is not auspicious.

若此木生于五月，日时止带一火，谓之石榴喷火，主贵。
If this wood is born in the fifth month, only one fire is seen on either day or  hour pillar (as Nayin), it is called 'pomegranate puffing fire', denotes nobility.

Trey: What a strange name, can I invent a structure called Trey puffing fire?

桑柘、大林、杨柳三木皆喜见之，见大林戊辰脱体，见杨柳花红柳绿，皆主功名；
Mulberry and Maclura, Great Forest, Poplars and Willows, these 3 woods are auspicious to be seen, seeing great forest Wu Chen, (pomegranate) sheds its form, seeing Poplars and Willows is called 'Red flower Green Willow', these denote fame and glory.

见桑柘癸丑为山，见松柏则强，见平地则大，若无别物夹杂，则禄绕红围，亦主富贵，如得城土为基，水运为助，享福优游，最为长久。
Seeing Mulberry and Maclura Gui Chou as mountain, seeing Pines and Cypress (pomegranate) becomes strong, seeing Flat Land becomes great, if there's no other thing to contaminate, then it's 'fortune spiralling and bonus encircling' (flowery words which mean getting a lot of money), it also denotes Wealth and nobility, if there is Castle Earth as foundation and water to support, one can leisurely enjoy wealth and blessings, which are very long lasting.

BaZi: NaYin 杨柳木 Wood of Poplars and Willows - Year Pillar Ren Wu and Gui Wei

This is a bad translation job. SMTH is sometimes difficult to understand.




壬午, 癸未 杨柳木
Ren Wu, Gui Wei - Wood of poplar and willow

杨柳木者，隋堤袅娜，汉苑轻盈，万缕不蚕之丝，千条不针之带，午未木之死墓，壬癸木之滋润。
Wood of Poplars and Willows, grown gracefully by the canals of Sui (dynasty), lives gracefully in the in the parks of Han (dynasty), ten thousands of silky thread that is not silkworm, thousands of belts (actually 带 refers to a piece of clothing that is long, like belt or necktie) that is not sewn, Wu and Wei as places where wood dies and goes into tomb, Ren and Gui are nourishments for wood.

此木根基唯喜砂土，见艮山则依倚摇金，遇寅卯东方得地；
For the root foundation of this wood, only Sandy Earth is good, seeing Gen (8gua) mountain would have to rely on swaying metal (??), seeing eastern places like Yin and Mao would be obtaining the earth (getting support)

辛丑有山，庚子不如；戊寅虽吉，已卯尤胜；
Xin Chou has mountain, Geng Zi is not as well; Wu Yin even though is auspicious, Ji Mao is much better;

丙辰丁已却嫌戌亥对冲；
Bing Chen and Ding Si dislike Xu and Hai clashing.

若见大驿，有丑为山边之驿，稍可，无丑独见此土，主夭贱；
If seeing Great Post (earth), Chou as the relay station besides the mountain, it is okay, if this earth is seen without Chou, it denotes dying young or lowliness.

路旁就位，复值死墓，日时遇之，主人卑弱；
If roadside has a place, and going through 'Death' and 'Tomb' consecutively, seeing this on day and hour pillar, represent an inferior and weak person.

屋土壬午见丁亥，丁壬合化则吉，丙戌不如。
Earth of House, Ren Wu seeing Ding Hai, When Ding and Ren combine and transform, it is auspicious, Bing Xu is not the same.

水见井泉、长流、大溪、涧下皆吉，中间又分合化之位，尤吉。
Water, seeing Well and Spring water, Long Flowing water, Great River water and Nourishing Under water are all auspicious, if there's combination within, it is more auspicious.

丙午丁未，丙丁真火，午未亦火，此木至午未死墓，壬午见之，大凶，癸庶几有别，水济之无害；
Bing Wu and Ding Wei, bing Ding are real Fire, Wu and Wei are also fire, when this wood arrives at Wu and Wei, it is 'Death' and 'Tomb', Ren Wu seeing this is greatly inauspicious, with Gui, there's some difference, when water is helping, there's no harm.

此木午未已自有火，更见别火，恐引起伤寿，灯头乙已有风木折，主夭；
This wood already has fire in Wu and Wei, seeing more fires probably will injure lifespan, Lamp fire Yi Si has wind, wood can be broken, denotes short life.

炉中寅卯本位，木旺反吉；霹火如壬午见己丑，癸未见戊子，阴阳交遇，更有砂土为基，主贵，若子午丑未对冲则不为吉。
Inside Furnace fire Yin and Mao as wood's original place, when wood is prosperous it is in turn, aupicious; Lightning Fire is like Ren Wu seeing Ji chou, Gui Wei seeing Wu Zi, Yin and Yang meeting each other, with Sand Earth as foundation, denotes nobility, if Zi, Wu, Chou and Wei are clashing, then it is not auspicious.

金见木无造化，钗钏、金泊却喜成功，海、蜡、剑、砂虽忌见之，其间轻重当以禄贵德煞，参祥见松柏木，为脱体化神之格也，主贵。
As for metal, when wood sees metal there's no goodness, Hairpin and bracelet, Gold Foil would like to be successful,Ocean, Wax, Sword, Sand are dreadful to be seen, to analyze these would need to look at 'Lu' (Officer), Gui (Nobility Noblemen), De (Virtuos Noblemen) or Sha (Devils), if this wood sees Pine Wood, it becomes a structure that 'shed off its body and transformed', denotes nobility.

桑柘癸丑为山，作倚傍成林，主吉；
With Mulberry Wood, Chou can be the mountain, Willow can depend on Mulberry and they become forest, denotes auspiciousness.

庚申辛酉木既死绝，又逢金克，以弱遇小，其人必贱。
Geng Shen and Xin You wood are 'Dead' and 'Extinct', furthermore, they are countered by metal, something that is weak seeing something small, thus the person must be lowly.

妙选有花红柳禄格，是以此木遇石榴，生于春夏，不以贱论；
The book of 'Miao Xuan' has a 'Red Flower Willow Fortune' structure, which is this Wood (Willow) seeing Pomegranate wood and is born in spring or summer, this should not be analyzed as lowly.

有杨柳拖金格，是以此木生于三春而时得一金，辛亥、甲子、癸卯、辛已最妙，乃壬癸禄贵之地故也。
Also there's a structure called 'Poplars and Willows trailing on Gold', which is Willow Wood being born in 3 springs and getting only one Metal, like

Xin    Gui       Jia       Xin
Si       Mao     Zi       Hai

which is the best, which is because Ren and Gui are places of 'Fortune and Noble'.

BaZi: NaYin 松柏木 Wood of pine and cypress - Year Pillar Geng Yin or Xin Mao

庚寅, 辛卯 松柏木

松柏木者，泼雪凑霜，参天覆地，风撼笙篁之奏，雨余旌旆之张。
(Some poetic stuff to describe pine wood)

此木藏居金下，位列正东，乃为极旺，最喜山为根基，水为滋润。
This wood lives hidden underneath Metal, but it's located at the true east, and thus it is extremely prosperous, it likes having mountains as the foundation of its root and be nourished by water.

天河雨露之水可以滋润，涧下丁丑属山，可为根基，丙子不如大溪有乙卯为雷，可以发荣，却嫌风霹，有损折之凶；
Heavenly river water as rain and dews can nourish this wood, nourishing under water Ding Chou belongs to mountain which can be used as the foundation, Bing Zi is not as good as Great River with Yi Mao as thunder, thus is can be glorious, but it does not like the wind impact, for fear of being broken (by the wind)

大海水有山则吉，癸亥清静无山，亦吉。
Great Ocean Water with mountain is auspicious, Gui Hai when it is clean and still is also auspicious without mountain.

若柱有平地，得屋土，则为已成栋梁，无用山水。无此二件，乃山间之茂木也，须要山水。
If the pillars has Flat Land (Wood) and getting House Earth has already become ridge pole, does not need to use mountain and water. Otherwise the wood is wild wood in the forest, needs water and mountain.

命中有火，最忌炉中，就位相生，再加风木，灰飞烟灭，五行无水，主夭折；
In the chart if there's fire, Inside furnace is most inauspicious,  when it's at a place that it can be engendered, together with wind an wood, ashes fly and smoke extinguished, if water is absent, it denotes dying young.

山头、山下、太阳、覆灯皆不可犯；
Fire above mountain, Fire below mountain, Fire of the Sun or Fire of the lamp - these must not be offended.

寅人尤忌戊午、丙寅，以木不南奔，寅午三合火局故也，辛卯无害；
Yin person especially fears Xu and Wu, Bing Yin wood does not want to rush to the south, because Yin and Wu forms a fire frame, whereas for Xin Mao it's okay.

Trey: When Bing Yin pine wood sees Wu and Xu, fire becomes overly strong. Pine Wood does not live well in hot temperature.

霹火虽可滋生，运加凡火，主凶。
Lightning fire can nourish the wood but if Fire comes in the Luck Pillar, it becomes inauspicious.

土见路旁，似无足贵，若无死木，其福还真；
As for earth, seeing Roadside Earth, it seems to be insufficient to be noble, even there is no dead wood, it's blessing can still be real;

驿土无山贫夭，更加海水，尤凶。
Post Earth without mountain denotes poverty or dying young, with Ocean Water, it's even more inauspicious.

金逢乙丑，为印为山；
Metal seeing Yi Chou, it functions as Seal or as mountain

泊金就位自旺，主吉；
Foil Metal, when it's in the correct position, it prosper itself, denotes auspiciousness.

剑锋能削能斫，更得壁土相成，松柏相资，主贵。
Sword Metal can be used to scrap and carve, when it get Wall Earth to complement, Pine Wood to mutually supporting, it denotes nobility.

大林有风，杨柳会火，二木最忌；

Great Forest wood has wind, Willow will meet fire, so these 2 woods are most inauspicious.

桑柘癸丑为山，可以相助；
Mulberry wood Gui Chou can function as mountain, thus it can be supportive.

石榴是辛酉金反化死木，有造化，却吉。
Pomegranate wood is Xin You metal, it instead transform dead wood, if it's a good structure, it's auspicious.

妙选有苍松冬秀格，是以此木生人月日时属三冬为贵；
In the book 'Miao Xuan' there's a structure called 'green pine is elegant in winter', Pine wood with its month, day and hour belong to 3 winters is regarded as noble.

有日合辛卯、日值庚寅二格，虽取戊午已未，生居夏秋，然专论此木为贵。
also, there are 2 more structures, 'day combining with Xin Mao', and  'day towards Geng Yin', even it takes Wu Wu and Ji Wei pillars, having born in Summer and Autumn will transform the wood to be noble.

What a cryptic chapter... 

BaZi: NaYin 桑拓木 Wood of mulberry and maclura - Year Pillar Ren Zi or Gui Chou

壬子, 癸丑 桑拓木

Ren Zi, Gui Chou - Wood of mulberry and maclura

桑柘木者，缯彩镒基，绮罗根本，士民飘飘之袂，圣贤楚楚之衣，此木供蚕为弧，其用甚大。
Mulberry and maclura wood, colorful with bases of taels (I have no idea what this means), silk-like root formation, the lightly sleeves of robes for the common people, the neat and lovely cloth for the saints and sages, this wood feeds the silkworm, so its uses is great.

最爱砂土，以为根基，又以辰已为蚕食之地，不宜刑冲互破，路旁、大驿二土次吉，余土无益。

Loves earth inside sand the most, as it can be the root foundation, also Chen and Si as places where silkworm feeds, not beneficial are punishments, clashes and breakage, roadside earth and great post earn are less auspicious, other earths are not beneficial.

水喜天河，为雨露之滋，长流、溪涧、井泉诸水皆可相依，亦须先得土为基，更加禄贵为妙，沧海水漂泛无定，无土主夭。

As for water, it likes heavenly river, as they represent the nourishment from rain and dew, long-lastingly flowing water, stream and gorge water, well and fountain water are all reliable, but first there must be earth as the foundation, then one's fortune can be greater, ocean water floats aimlessly, without earth it represent disaster

见火灯头最吉，亦以辰已之中为蚕位故也；炉中位居寅卯，木之旺地；天上、霹雳二火与此木干支有合化之情，有坎离交媾之妙，俱吉，但诸火不宜叠见。
As for fire, seeing lamp fire is most auspicious, as Chen and Si are places where silkworm feeds; inside furnace fire resides and Yin and Mao, places where wood is prosperous; Fire in heaven and lightning fire can combine and transform with the stems and branches of this wood and thus is affectionate, it has the wonder of Kan and Li copulating (???), that is auspicious, but for all fires, it is not good to be seen repetitively. 

以金言之，砂中第一，剑锋能修整此木，为次，钗泊二金须得土为基，如逢冲破，又凶。

As for metal, metal inside sand as the first, sword metal can repair this wood, thus as second, hairpin and foil metal must have earth as the foundation, if seeing clashes and breakages, it is inauspicious.

木喜庚寅辛卯，为以弱就强，以小变大，作贵格论，纵无砂土，亦吉；

As for wood, it likes Geng Yin and Xin Mao, that is 'the weak following the strong', the little becomes great, and thus is regarded as noble structure, even without sandy earth, it is still auspicious.

平地、石榴，无土则凶；
Wood of flat land, wood of pomegranate, without earth is inauspicious.

大林乃东南蚕食之位，有土资生，主大贵；遇杨柳为桑柳成林，亦是贵格，须生春夏方吉。
Wood of great forest is South East, places where silkworm feeds, if there is earth to support, it denotes great nobility; seeing willow will result in 'mulberry and willow becoming forest', which is a noble structure, but it must be born in either spring or summer to be auspicious. 

BaZi: NaYin 平地木 Wood of Flat land - Year Pillar Wu Xu and Ji Hai

戊戌, 已亥 平地木
Wu Xu, Ji Hai - Wood of flat land


平地木者，初生萌蘖，始发枝条，唯资雨露之功，不喜雪霜之积，此乃地上之茂材，人间之屋木。
Wood of flat land, when it first begins to sprout and grow its stems, its only source of nourishment is from rain and dew, it does not like snow or frost accumulating, it's the source of luxuriant material on earth, the wood for making houses for man.


戊戌为栋，已亥为梁，最宜互换见之，须以土为基，土爱路旁，为正格，更逢子午，尤贵，以子午为天地正柱故也；
Wu Xu as ridgepole, Ji Hai as beam, it's best to see inter-exchanging, earth is needed as the base, likes roadside earth, that is the true (good) structure, seeing Zi or Wu is especially noble, as Zi and Wu are the true pillars of heaven and earth;


屋、壁、城头三土以此木相资，中间有升化，尤吉；砂、驿无用，日时见之，主灾；
The earths of house (Bing Xu, Ding Hai), wall (Geng Zi and Xin Chou) and castle (Wu Yin, Ji Mao) are mutually nourishing with this wood, if there is transformation among (the pillars), then it's better, earth of sand (Bing Chen, Ding Si) and post (Wu Shen and Ji You) are useless, if they are seen on day pillar or hour pillar, represents disasters.


太阳、霹雳，最为显耀，炉中遇水则福，灯头无风则固，余火无水则凶；
Sun fire (Wu Wu, Ji Wei) and thunder fire (Wu Zi, Ji Chou) are prominently glorious, inside furnace fire (Bing Yin, Ding Mao) seeing water denotes blessing, lamp fire without wind would be tough, the other fires would be inauspicious without water.


此已成之木，不宜剑金，有木相资则可；泊金增饰光辉，又天干合，地支旺，更有旁土为基，主大贵。
The wood that is already complete, is not beneficial to see sword metal, but it is okay if there are other wood to support, thin metal adds to its radiant decor, also HS are combined, EBs prosperous, with Roadside earth as base, it denotes great nobility.

余金无用。
Other metals are of no use.


水见天河，为润泽，主吉；
As for water, seeing Heavenly River as moisture, is auspicious.


溪、海无山俱凶；
Stream and Ocean water, without Mountain is inauspicious.


井泉、涧下虽吉，内甲申合丁丑为山，遇之尤吉。
Well and spring water, under nourishing water are auspicious, but with Jia Shen combining with Ding Chou as mountain is even more auspicious.


木见大林，有风摇动，主寿促；
As for wood, seeing big forest wood, with wind it will sway, represents longevity;


桑柘癸丑最吉，壬子己亥人见之为贵，戊戌人不堪；
Mulberry and maclura, seeing Gui Chou is most auspicious, Ji Hai person seeing Ren Zi is precious, Wu Xu person is not that good.


松柏木倚辅平地为栋梁，更有土助，主贵。
Pine and cypress wood can assist flat land wood to be become beam and ridgepole, with the support of earth, it represents nobility.


大抵此木恶金而喜水、土，若生三冬时，得寅卯为寒谷回春，亦贵论也。
Generally. this wood hates metal but loves water and earth, if it is born in 3 winters. getting Yin or Mao represent 'cold valley returning to spring', it is also regarded as noble.

BaZi: NaYin 大林木 Wood of Big Forest - Year Pillar Wu Chen and Ji Si

Wu Chen, Ji Si as Wood of big forest

大林木者，枝干撼风，柯条撑月，耸壑昂霄之德，凌云蔽日之功。
Wood of big forest, their branches and stems are shaken by the wind, their trunks supporting the moon, they have the virtue of being outstanding, the success of rising tall to the clouds and cover the sun. (all these are just to say they are tall and huge)

此木生居东南，春夏之交，长养成林，金假艮土为源，癸丑为山，三命无破陷，最为福厚权贵，戊辰为上，己巳次之。
This wood resides in south west, between spring and summer, after being nourished for long, it became forest, metal borrows Gen earth as resource, Gui Chou as mountain, when the Three Lives are without destruction, it denotes great blessing, nobility and authority, Wu Chen is better than Ji Si. 

土遇路旁，为负载，戊辰见辛未为贵，己巳见庚午为禄，主富；壁、屋二土，再得剑金，则大林之木取为栋梁，成格最吉，无此乃山间茂林之木也。
Seeing roadside earth is burden, Wu Chen seeing Xin Wei as precious, Ji Si seeing Geng Wu is fortunate, denotes wealthiness; earth of wall and house, and also gets sword metal, meaning will make wood of big forest into ridge pole (roof beam), it's the most auspicious the structure can be, without these, the wood is only wood in the mountain within the hills. 

此木无论死活，皆欲见土，如己人见甲，虽云化土，然不如辰戌丑未，土局纯金为妙。
This wood, does not matter if it is dead or alive, desires seeing earth, like Ji person seeing Jia, although the classics say it will transform to earth but it is not as good as Chen Xu Chou Wei, earth frame with pure metal is a wonder.

若此木已死在山之下；见甲戌乙亥烧之，主凶夭；灯火就位相生，乙巳不如甲辰更吉；霹雳、太阳二火皆能长育运中，遇之亦吉，然二火嫌并见，持胜须有土为根基方可。
If this wood is already dead beneath the mountain, seeing Jia Xu and Yi Hai (fire on top of mountain) will burn it, denotes inauspicious and short lifespan; if fire of lamp (Jia Chen / Yi Si ) replaces (the other fire) will mutually engender (wood and fire), Jia Chen is more auspicious than Yi Si; Fire of thunder and lightning (Wu Zi / Yi Chou ), and fire of the sun (Wu Wu, Yi wei) both could nourish (the wood) when they are seen in the luck pillars, seeing these is also auspicious, if both fires are seen together, wood needs earth as a base for its root to be able to maintain itself.

水见天河，戊辰见丁未带贵，虽无土与山，亦主有衣食，即灵槎入天河格也，生秋冬死绝方是；
As for water, seeing water of heavenly river (Bing Wu / Ding Wei), Wu Chen seeing Ding Wei is precious, even without earth and mountain, it still denotes having clothing and food, the structure is named 'spiritual raft entering heavenly river'. Even if it is born in Autumn or Winter with dead and extinct Qi, it is still in the structure.

溪、海二水重见，主贫夭，有山稍得。
Water if rivers (Jia Yin, Yi Mao) and ocean (Ren Xu, Gui Hai) if are seen repeatedly, represent poverty or short lifespan, if there's mountain, it is a little useful.

妙选有苍龙驾海格，是戊辰见癸亥为贵，涧下丁丑最吉，丙子不如。
In MiaoXuan (a book) there's a structure named 'green dragon arrives upon the sea' which is Wu Chen seeing Gui Hai as precious, water of nourishing under, Ding Chou is most auspicious, Bing Zi is not as auspicious.

诸金俱不宜见，海中有乙丑为山，剑锋得屋壁为本，余金无用，逢之主夭贱。
All metals are not good to be seen, metal in the sea Yi Chou can be the mountain, metal of sword with earth or wall or house can be used as base, other metals are useless, seeing denotes short lifespan and lowliness.

木喜桑柘，唯癸丑最妙；平地还须得路旁土，谓之平林在野；
As for Wood, Mulberry and maclura is auspicious, but Gui Chou is most wonderful; wood of flat land must come together with earth of roadside,  this is named 'flat forest in the wild);

松柏，东方生旺之地，柱有癸丑而得松柏为密荫，最佳。
pines and cypress, on the eastern side where it is the land where wood is prosperous, when the pillar has Gui Chou and pines and cypress, it denotes dense shelter (like thick canopy, dense shelter), it is the best.

BaZi: 纳音 NaYin part 3

右件六十甲子，盛大者，忌变为小弱；小弱者欲变为盛大，
The above 60 JiaZi, those who are great or prosperous, it is unfavorable to change to be small and weak; those who are small and weak wish to be prosperous and great. 

譬如先贫贱而后富贵则荣华，先富贵而后贫贱则卑辱，不可以其先贫贱而不论其富贵，亦不可以其先富贲而不论其贫贱也。
For example, poor and lowly at the beginning and eventually become wealthy and noble is glory and splendor, while wealthy and noble at the beginning and eventually become poor and lowly is inferior and disgraceful. 

且年属木，假令是庚寅辛卯，则木之盛大可知，若日月时胎，不见他木，则以松柏论，万一月日时胎上见杨柳木或石榴木，则当舍大就小，不以松柏论也。
Like Year belongs to wood, for example it is Geng Yin or Xin Mao, then how prosperous wood is can largely be known, if Day, Month, Hour and Womb (Conception Pillar), other woods are not seen, then it should be analyzed as pine and cypress, but in case of Month, Day, Hour and Womb having poplars and willows or pomegranate wood, then it should be regarded as 'abandoning the greater to follow the smaller', and ti should not be analyzed as pine and cypress.

是壬午癸未生人，则木之小弱可知，若月日时胎，不见他木，则以杨柳论，万一月日时胎上见松柏木或大林木，则弃小论大，不可以杨柳木论也，
If a person is born in Ren Wu or Gui Wei (Year Pillar), then how small the wood is can be known, if on Month, Day, Hour and Womb (pillars), other woods are not seen, then it is analyzed as poplar and willow, in case of Month / Day/ Hour / Womb pillar seeing pines and cypresses or great forest wood, then 'small' is abandoned and it should be analyzed as great (wood), and should not be analyzed as poplar and willow,

以至天上火、剑锋金、大海水、大驿土生人，月日时胎，别见他位纳音同而小弱者，
As for 'Above heaven Fire', 'Sword edge Metal', 'Great Ocean Water', 'Great post Earth' people, seeing other same element NaYin that is smaller on Month, Day, Hour or Womb,

又如覆灯火、金萡金、井泉水、沙中土生人，月日时胎别见他位纳音同而盛大者，或引凡而入圣，或先重而后轻，皆当从其变者而论之，不可拘于一端也。（广录）
also for 'Covered lantern Fire', 'Gold leaf Metal', 'Well and spring Water', 'Earth inside sand', seeing other same element NaYin that is greater, at Month / Day / Hour / Womb, or 'leading the common' and 'enter sainthood', or heavy first and light after, these should be analyzed as changed (NaYin), must not adhere to a fixed principle.
