Direct Officer Discussion

夫正官者，甲見辛之類。乃陰見陽爲官，陽見陰爲官。陰陽配合成其道也。 
Direct Officer, Jia (DM) seeing Xin and the likes, that is Yin seeing Yang as Officer, Yang seeing Yin as Officer. Yin and Yang matches and fulfill the Tao.

大抵要行官旺鄉，月令是也。

Generally, it has to go to places where Officer is prosperous, which is the Month's Decree

月令者，提綱也。看命先看提綱，方看其餘。

Month Decree is the key-point. Reading a Life (chart) must begin with looking at the key-point, only then the rest can be read.

既曰正官，運複行得官旺之鄉，凡事有成，卻又行不得傷官之地。行財旺之鄉，皆是作福之處。 

That is called Direct Officer, Luck (pillar) that (once again) has gone to places where Officer is prosperous, all matters will be successful, but (Luck Pillar) must not go to places with Hurting Officer. Going to places where Wealth is prosperous is also places of blessings.
正官乃貴氣之物，大忌刑衝破害，及年月時中皆有官星隱露，恐福渺矣。

Direct Officer is something with Noble Qi, greatly inauspicious is Punishment, Clash, Breakage and Harm, also is inauspicious is when Year, Month and Hour all has exposed or hidden Officer star, (it is) fears that blessing is very little.

又須看年時上別有何者入格，作福會處，方可斷其吉凶。

Also must be seen on Year and Hour what else is in the structure, (things) that creates blessings, or places of meeting, only then can auspiciousness or inauspiciousness can be determined.

苟一途而執取之，則不能通變，必有差之毫釐，謬以千里之患。經曰：通變以爲神者是也。 

Analyzing from only one direction does not have TongBian (adaptability / versatility, it's an classical Chinese concept), it can bring about a slightest difference that leads to a huge error. The classics says: TongBian is god-like.

正官或多，反不爲福，何以言之？

If there's many Direct Officer, that is not a blessing, why is it said so?

蓋人之命宜得中和之氣，太過與不及同。

Because the life of a man should have a harmonize Qi, too much or too little are the same.

中和之氣爲福厚，偏黨之剋爲災殃。

The Qi of harmony denotes strong blessings, the counter that is inclined to many denotes disasters.

既用提綱作正官，年時支干位或有一偏官，便難矣，不可不仔細以輕重推測也。 

When the key-point is Used as the Officer, On Year or Hour pillar seeing one Indirect Officer will causes difficulties, that should not be analyzed lightly.

又曰：於月令得之是也，喜身旺印綬。

It is also said: (Direct Officer) that is obtained from the Month's Decree, likes Prosperous Self and Seal and Ribbon.

如果用辛官，喜土生官，最怕刑衝破害，羊刃七殺爲貧命。

If Xin Officer is used, likes Earth to engenders Officer, what is feared the most is punishment, clash, breakage and harm, YangRen and 7K as poor life.

如時干逢殺，乃官殺混雜，蓋四柱有刑沖害，皆不爲貴命看。

If the Stem of the Hour Pillar sees a 7K, that is Officer mixed with 7K, when the four pillars has Punishment, clashes or harm, all are not regarded as noble life.

官來剋我，我去剋官，不爲害。

Officer come to counter Me, or I go to counter Officer, are not harmful.

一位若兩官不妨。若月令中有正官，時干支有偏官，便難以正官言之。 

At one place if there's 2 Officers, it's still ok. If the Month's Decree has Direct Officer, Hour Pillar has Indirect Officer, then it is difficult to be called Direct Officer.
且如甲用辛爲官，生於八月中氣之後，金旺在酉，故謂之正官。

Like Jia uses Xin as Officer, born after the middle Qi of the eight month, Metal is prosperous at You, thus it is called Direct Officer.

如天干不透出辛字，卻地支有巳酉丑，雖不生於八月中氣之後，亦可言官。

If Heavenly Stems has no Xin protruding, but within the branches there's Si-You-Chou, even if it is not born after the middle Qi of the eight month, it can still be called Officer.

大要身旺，時辰歸於甲木旺處。如歲時透出正官，地支又有官局，卻不拘八月中氣之後。 

Generally, it wants a Strong Self, Hour should returned to where Jia wood is prosperous. If on the Year or Hour Direct Officer is protruding, and the branches meet into an Officer frame, it does not have to be restrained to be born after the middle Qi of the eighth month.

大率官星，須得印綬身旺則發。

Generally Officer star must have Seal and Ribbon with Strong DM to be successful.

若無傷官破印，身不弱者，便爲貴命。

If there's no Hurting Officer and broken Seal, and Self is no weak, it can be regarded as noble Life.

如命中有官星而行傷官之運，則不吉，必待印綬、官星旺運可發，必得官。 

If there's an Officer star in Life and it goes to Hurting Officer LP, it is inauspicious, must have Seal and Ribbon, when Officer star is strong, success is possible, a officer position can be obtained.
